REFLECTION is the word of the month. When the sun reflects on a glassy lake or hits an object just so, it redirects the light - showing its beauty in a way not seen without it. The ordinary becomes extraordinary. Similarly, it happens with each of us when we take time to reflect on ourselves and how we spend our time on this earth. Reflecting on the now…. freeing oneself from something in the past and using reflection on how to move forward.

Reflect on your class experience and encourage those around you to apply for Class 32! Each of you were extraordinary when chosen to be a member of Leadership Oklahoma and still are. Be the REFLECTION you envision for your family, community and state. Together let us redirect the light to reflect the beauty of Oklahoma and its most precious treasure….its people.

LOK Class 32 Applications are now available on the LOK website! Please encourage people you think would be interested in applying for the next class. As an LOK alum, please help spread the word. Word-of-mouth is our most effective recruitment strategy, and LOK’s friends and alumni are our best recruitment resource. We need you to share your LOK experience within your networks and beyond. If you know promising candidates, talk with them about your LOK story, point them to the LOK Program page of our website for more details, and be sure to complete a Class 32 Nomination Form so we can follow up.

NEW! Please click HERE for a Class 32 nominating form, and encourage those you know to consider completing the application and investing in the LOK life changing adventure. Self-nominations are also encouraged! When the Application for Selection becomes available, we will contact you and/or your nominee with an application packet and a personal invitation to apply. This feature will be open throughout the year should you connect with someone who would be a good candidate to apply.

Recruitment chair: Marnie Taylor, Class XXIV

We want to help! If you connect with prospective candidates or if you have questions about the LOK program, please let us know. Contact LOK President and CEO Marion Paden at so we can support your outreach or share more information.

It’s not too soon to start thinking about the upcoming directory! Check the photo LOK is using in the current directory and if you have a current head shot, email a high-resolution photo to Allyson at

Also, take one minute to log in to the member database and make sure LOK has your most current information. Recent job change? Maybe a promotion or title change? Click here to ensure we have accurate information regarding your profile.

The LOK staff can assist you if you’ve forgotten your login/password!

Member renewals will be mailed out the first of May. The directory process will be earlier this year due to the Class 32 orientation being July 27, 2018.

2017-2018 Membership Events

Past LOK Member Events

Thank you to our members who were intentional and came to a past LOK event. Connecting, networking and educational!

LOK Day at the Capitol | Legislative Reception |
Spring Issues Summit
February 20-21, 2018
Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown-Bricktown
209 N. Walnut Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73104

Co-chairs Jason Kirksey, Class XXVII, Lyle Roggow, Class 30, and the planning committee did a fabulous job putting together a great networking opportunity for LOK.

Thank you to our sponsors and LOK members/guests who supported this event!!

LOK members and guests heard from Ken Miller, Class XXV, regarding the Budget Process 101, then heard from House and Senate leadership on their priorities for this upcoming session and encouraged us to stay engaged and reach out to your legislators! Thank you to Speaker Charles McCall, Pro Tempore Mike Schultz, Senator John Sparks, and Representatives Brian Renegar and Ben Loring for taking time to speak with us.

Even with inclement weather, there was a good number of members and guests for the legislative reception. Many of our speakers at the summit attended; hearing positive comments from both the speakers and the members getting to meet informally. The LOK Ambassadors coordinated “no host” dinners at various locations after the legislative reception.

Wednesday morning was The Dollars and Sense of Immigration. The summit speakers did a fabulous job! The goal was to transform the conversation, with attendees leaving better equipped to understand the economic impact of immigration. Feedback has been very positive!

The Helping Oklahoma honorees were recognized at the luncheon. There were 22 outstanding nominations for Helping Oklahoma which proved to make the selection very difficult. The winner who received $2,500 was Cheri Heath Fuller representing Oklahoma Messages Project.

Because of so many wonderful nominations, a second person received $1,000. Mike Schatz with CASA of Kay and Noble Counties was also recognized at the luncheon. To learn more about each of our honorees and other nominees, visit
